Turn the Light on!
By Yvonne Jarrard

Have you ever awakened during the night, trying to get around in the dark?  You find yourself
half asleep and bumping into things here and there, to get to the bathroom or where ever it is
you are trying to get to? You know you have a light, a switch on the wall, you may even have a
night light, or a flash light, a candle, but you don't turn it on because you are just half asleep.
Perhaps, you just don't want to turn it on, because then it would hurt your eyes too much and
you don't want to wake up completely.

Well I found myself at that place this morning, it was dark with just a little light coming through
the window.  I found myself, bumping into things, stepping onto things, and reaching for a door
handle several times.  I thought I knew what I was doing, after all, this is the area I am familiar
with right?  Where I am at home.   So after going through all of that, I finally decided to turn on
the light.   I covered my eyes until they got adjusted to their surroundings.  It took a short while, it
was quite uncomfortable.   Nevertheless, I adjusted and I made my way to where I wanted to
be,  with a lot less pain, a lot less time, a lot less effort, and a great lesson learned.  I realized
then, just how dark it really had been.

The Lord spoke to me and told me, this is how many people walk through their life.  Half asleep,
not really experiencing the full awakening, the full life that is prepared for them.  Just getting by
with a little light to get through circumstances, a little light of the word, a little light of a church
service, a little light of worship, a little light of a preacher on T.V., a little light of the truth.  He said;
they know where they want to go, but they work their way around it by taking the long road.
The more familiar, "at home" road.  They want to remain "comfortable".  Even though it is not
working,  and not what I have planned for them.  They are comfortable even in their hidden
pain,  disappointments, loneliness and rejection because that is all they have ever known.

So they stay in the dark because it would be too painful to expose themselves to the light
completely.   But I have come to set them free!  I have come not to condemn them, but to save
them from death, to save them from walking in darkness, to save them from the enemy, to save
them from themselves!  Their way of thinking, their way of handling circumstances, their way of
loving others, their way of coping in life, their way.  Period.

My son came so they could walk in the light, exposing the dark places with the light is where
TRUE Freedom resides!  It is harder, more difficult  to go through this life when you are walking
around in darkness.  In denial, in bitterness, in resentment, in unforgiveness.  You will get hurt,
you will experience much pain, you will take longer to get to where you are going, and you
will miss out on the great freedom and beautiful abundant life that is all around you, in arms
reach!  It is attainable, just turn the light on!

Yes I know it is painful, it is not comfortable.  But remember I have come to heal the broken
hearted and set the captives FREE!  But how badly do you want to go from where you are, to
where you truly want to be?  Do you really want to take another 40 years going around the
same mountain?  Turn the light on, allow the light to dispel the darkness, and walk to the next
level in Me, from where you are, to the life you have always wanted! The life I have always
wanted you to experience!  I will help you, and comfort you and teach you, as my light infuses
you.  You will then be adjusted to your new surroundings!  Take that first step, and walk into your
new beginning!
