Who are you resisting?

James 4:6
6 But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That
is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace (continually) to the lowly (those who
are humble enough to receive it)
7 So be subject to God, Resist the devil (stand firm against him), and he will flee from you.
To be subject, what does that mean? To be subject is hold yourself under the authority or power of another. Then
he says RESIST the devil. Now I wonder why he didn't just say, Don't pay attention to the devil, or Tell the devil no and
he will flee from you?
The word Resist means, To strive or work against; oppose actively; To remain FIRM against the action or effect of ;
withstand; To keep from giving in to or enjoying. So God as always, knows what he is talking about.
We all have our weaknesses and areas that may tempt us to do or say things that are not accordingly to what the Lord
would directs us. Yes we may fail at times and I don't know about you, but often times it take more than once to say
"NO" and to resist it. God knows that the enemy will try his best to defeat us in a particular area.
Often times he (devil) will not give up without a fight. That is why he (God) tells us to first to be subject to him (God),
follow his teachings and ways, and resist, the devil and he WILL flee. The Holy Spirit will empower us to resist the
devil.
In our weakness, HE is made strong. When things get tough or to hard to bear, don't flee from the Lord and escape
what you must confront. Let the Lord give you strength, hold tight to him, and continuously stand firm, and the Devil
will flee (run away from; vanish). You will see that you will not be tempted as you use to in those areas. Can you think
of areas that you use to love to do, but now the devil can't tempt you in that area any longer? That is because you
resisted and you stood firm. You have been delivered from that....We are changed from Glory to Glory.
Don't feel defeated if you are still struggling in certain areas, just continue to stay strong in Him and watch your
transformation unfold!
