He's Hovering Over You!

Genesis 1; 1-2
1 In the Beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned and,) created the heavens and the earth.
2 The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The
Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.
In the beginning God created everything into it's existence. He spoke our existence with only a word, he used the
span of his hand to create the stars, he breathed life into the nostrils of man....This SAME God created you, he gave
you a beginning when you were formed in your mother's womb and breathed life into you for all to hear when you
were born. Take a look from the beginning to where you are right now.
Just as the earth was without form, an empty waste, can you relate? Do you wonder what am I here for? Do you feel
like your life is without meaning, empty. Are you lacking happiness, joy, true fulfillment?
Do you feel as if there is darkness upon your face, and deep within your soul? Perhaps, we can look at the scripture
above and relate it to ourselves, other than the creation of this world we live in.
Take a moment and think about the awesome God we serve, that with only a word, he spoke our very existence.
Notice how he participated in his own creation, yes he could of spoke everything out with a word, Adam, the stars...but
he imparted himself.
You don't have to lay in your deep despair, in your empty waste, or hopelessness.... Now look at this, in verse 2, it
says God Moved, (Hovered) over the face of the waters.
The definition for hover is to REMAIN suspended in the air over a particular place, to remain in or linger in or near a
place.
The Hebrew translation for MOVED, is to hover, flutter, to tremble, to shake. This means a lot to me. Sounds like
God was and is excited when he made creation. God is excited when he wants to create something in you, something
you haven't experienced. He hovers over you with anticipation! Anticipation of your future!
He longs to remain with you, near you, and cover you with his presence. Many times, we get so bombarded with day
to day life, that we don't sense his presence, but he never leaves us, so stop right now and realize that HE, this
awesome God, is hovering over you, with great excitement and anticipation to impart himself to you in a new way!
