Dying to Live!
Written by Yvonne Bush

"I have been crucified with Christ (in Him I have shared His crucifixion);  it is no longer I who live, but
Christ (the Messiah) lives in me;  and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and
reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me."

Galatians 2:20

Dying to Live?  What does that mean, you might be asking.  Have you ever gotten to a place in your life
where you are tired of your SELF?  Tired of your way of thinking, tired of your way of acting, tired of
walking in a life that you feel is un-fulfilling!  Well good, that is where the change can begin.

Dying to self, is a rather painful process.  In the scripture above we read how we have been crucified with
Christ.  That is a painful death.  It is easy to give up those things that use to have a hold on us, but what
about those habitual sins, the little things we do, that are not pleasing to him.

When we take a step out and surrender those areas to the Lord we can feel our flesh dying.  Let me give
you an example, let's say you have trouble gossiping, and you make a decision to surrender that to Him,
well the next time you go around that certain group of people, and they begin their conversations, you
don't engage in that conversation, but oh how the FLESH wants to rise up!  But You have made a
decision to surrender, yet you can feel the resistance of your flesh.  You have now experienced dying to
self.

When you begin to die to self, then you can really begin to have life, the life of Christ who now dwells
within YOU!  In our weakness  HE is made strong! Purpose in your heart that you are dying to live today,
and experience all that he has for you!
