"At Your Feet"
                                           by Yvonne Jarrard

Please Read Luke 7:37-50

37  Behold, a woman of the town who was an especially wicked sinner, when she learned that He (Jesus) was
reclining at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment (perfume).

38  And standing behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears;  and she wiped them with
the hair of her head and kissed His feet affectionately and anointed them with the ointment (perfume).

It is quite interesting, that when  I studied this woman, she is known as Mary of Bethany, or MOST commonly known
as the "Woman of GREAT SIN".  Can you imagine being known  for that as a title?  Maybe you can relate, by thinking
back at all the mistakes you made.  The insecurities, the desperate times, that shaped you into such a person.

Mary WAS  such a woman, when she walked into the house of Simon, all the Pharisee's were talking about her, she
had quite a reputation and it wasn't good.  Still Mary pressed through her shame and the pain of hearing others talk
lowly of her.  She broke the flask and poured all that she had on her master, Jesus.  All of it.  Do you know that the
cost of that ointment, was equivalent to one years salary now a days?  It was a very costly perfume.  She washed his
feet with her tears and dried them with her hair.  She loved him so much because he loved her, forgave her and
accepted her.

He accepts you just as you are, it doesn't matter what you have done, willingly or unwillingly.  You don't have to be
"straightened" up before you can come to Him.  He wants  you just the way you are, and through him, he will put your
life back in order.  Just as Mary broke the flask, we have to become broken before him, and he will put the pieces
together where they belong.

Who else do you know that can love you, forgive you AND FORGET everything you've done?  NO ONE.  We are the
ones who have a hard time forgiving ourselves.  We continuously RE-Live the pain, and the mistakes.  Forgiveness
brings healing to your mind and your body.  Mary didn't hesitate, she didn't stop to listen to the voices around her,
criticizing her for her  past, or for her act of display, by falling at the feet of Jesus in front of everyone.  Jesus told
them all, Mary has done a honorable thing.  For her act of worship, she will be remembered always.

Don't listen to the voices around you, or in you.  Jesus has so much to offer, a FULL life is ready to be poured out on
you.  But are you ready to become broken in order to receive it?

Be blessed today,
Yvonne
